The West Virginia Crossbow Hunters Association believes that all hunters should have the right to choose to hunt with a crossbow, compound bow or longbow during archery season. The form of archery should be chosen by the archer based upon his or her comfort level and competence with the weapon of their choice.
We believe that allowing the crossbow to be used during archery season will promote hunting among both younger hunters and older hunters who may have been precluded from archery hunts, not by their disability, but by their physical limitations as compared to an adult in the prime of life.
Our goal is to legalize the use of crossbows during archery season by means of petitioning our legislature to enact appropriate legislation for the benefit of all hunters. Our legislators need to know that the majority of hunters want to be able to legally harvest game with a crossbow and that those who oppose the legalization of crossbows are a minority who do so only in their self interest.
Please sign the petition to legalize crossbow hunting and tell your friends and family members about our effort.
